Pretty soon, River North businessmen, revelers and travelers will have a coffee and pastry option from one of the most respected Italian chefs in Chicago. Chef Tony Priolo and his team have taken over theCrumbs Bake Shop next to Piccolo Sogno Due and are planning to open Piccoletto, as in little Piccolo Sogno, sometime soon.
Priolo says the spot will specialize in piadini, an Italian flatbread street food that can be served sweet or savory with a variety of ingredients. Piccoletto will also serve espresso, coffee, and other pastries.
People who have been to the former Crumbs know that the space is cozy and in a high traffic area. There’s no exact timeframe yet for opening—stay tuned.

Renowned Chef and Mariano’s TasteMaker Tony Priolo of Piccolo Sogno Restaurant will be at Mariano’s West Loop on February 25, 2014 to teach a unique cooking class for Mariano’s customers! Guests will prepare their own ravioli with Chef Tony as their guide, followed by dining with the Chef.
Champagne will be served upon arrival at 6:30pm, with the class beginning promptly at 7:00pm. Wines provided by the Terlato family will be coupled with dinner.
